Dear Friends,

The Church and the Preschool are combining efforts for two important mission projects.

First Project: Through October 31, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to feed needy families in our area. Every week families come to the church looking for food. We supply them with a grocery bag filled with donated food items that should last them three days. Non-perishable food items are donated throughout the year. However, this is a special project to fill our food pantry so we can continue to feed hungry families in our community.

Second Project: In early November we will be sending shoe boxes filled with school supplies, toys, hygiene items, etc. to poor children in other countries through Operation Christmas Child. These gifts go to children in the slums of Calcutta and to orphans in Johannesburg as well as to needy children in more than 100 countries. The simple gift of a shoe box filled with a variety of “goodies” can make a world of difference to that child. A brochure in this newsletter gives details on how to pack a shoe box.

Thanks to Michelle Williams, Yvonne Wright and the Preschool Board for these suggesting these mission projects for October and November.

In God’s Amazing Grace,

Pastor Sam
