Cutler Ridge United Methodist Church

Dear Friends,

What a fabulous celebration at our 50th Anniversary on September 6th & 7th!  The fellowship was superb with so many former members returning to join us for the occasion.  It was also very memorable having two former ministers—Revs. Esther Robinson and Walter Edwards—and Mrs. Iris Edwards (also a former Choir Director)—sharing with us.  The music was fantastic!  The food was great!  Thanks to all who made the event so special!

Two weeks after that high we had our first Summit of ReFocus.  Although a high of a different nature, it was a spiritual time of reflection on where we have been as a church.  Our Journey Wall was very revealing as the four different groups came up with similar ideas to describe the 50-year pilgrimage of this congregation including its growth up to Hurricane Andrew and its decline since then.  The overview of half a century of ministry brought laughter for all the joyous times and tears for the difficulties.  We rejoiced that there were many more highs than lows.  At the end we came to a place of surrendering ourselves and our future to God.

We will meet for our next ReFocus Summit on Saturday, October 18, 9:30 am-1:30 pm.  It is going to be even more exciting as we look to where we are going as a congregation.  We hope you will join us as we seek God’s vision for our future.
