Dear Friends,
In the May 16th edition of The Miami Herald there was an article about how well preschools across the state were preparing children for kindergarten. It gave a state website where the scores of all the preschools were posted on their VPK four-year-old programs. Of course, I was anxious to find out about our Preschool so I went immediately to the website. Out of possible 300 our Preschool scored 282 on preparing four-year-olds for kindergarten. The average in Florida was 240. Miami-Dade and Monroe County preschools averaged 229. Our Preschool’s score indicates the quality program we have.
The Church and the parents know we have a good quality Preschool. Now the rest of Florida can know what we have known all along–that our Director Kathy Angus and our teachers and staff know what they are doing and are committed to doing it well. The numbers also show everyone that we have an excellent Preschool. Hurray for our Preschool!
Please take a moment to write a note (20740 Old Cutler Road, Miami, FL 33189) or email the Preschool (crumk@bellsouth.net) to congratulate them on the good work they do for the children in our community.
In light of the continued good work of the Preschool staff, at their May 20th meeting, the Preschool Board approved a $1.00 per hour increase for the staff for the 2007-2008 academic year.
Congratulations to our Preschool!
Sam
