Hi Friends,

I hope this week’s e-devotional finds you doing well walking strong in the Spirit of the Lord. Sunday was surely a lively, Spirit-filled time of worship. Thank goodness the choir finally got the hang of that football chant! What spirit they have! We talked about how God’s Spirit brings us back to life during our dry spells or after being in the wilderness like Ezekiel’s vision of the Valley of Dry of Bones. Also, I thank you for staying to Get Connected and for many of you who signed up or expressed interest in our ministries. Once we discover our source of life, it’s good when all the “parts” get on with living and working together. May our life together glorify God in all we do.

Whether you were present with us or not, I am inviting all friends of CRUMC to pray for God’s Holy Spirit to be poured out in our congregation in a new way, just as the Holy Spirit has always come to God‘s people over and over again. Instead of spending any more time on reflection, I want to ask you to just stop where you are and pray. Take a few moments and pray for these specific things some of which were mentioned on Sunday.

– Pray for the 3 priority areas for our church ministry:

• Ministry to Young People  (children, youth, CRUMK, and families)
• Worship  (preaching, music, multi-media)
• Mercy Ministries (S.H.A.R.E., the food pantry, Community Health Care)

– Pray for our community and all those who need to know to know the love of God, including the families and staff of Coral Gables High School.

– Pray for the Holy Spirit to be active in your life and CRUMC.

Coming up on Sunday, we’ll talk about the Holy Spirit as the Teacher of Truth. We’ll be reading various versus from John chapters 14 & 16. I encourage you to take a look at them as you have time. Also, we want you to share in the joy as we baptize Connor Prado, son of Jaime and Carlos. See you then!

FOR THIS SUNDAY, 9/20/09

All those signed up or want to know more about the new Children’s Church format, there will be a Training meeting at 9am. Please contact Julie Calloway or Pastor Amber for more info.

For all Youth (6th-12th grade) there’s a Back-to-School pool party at Pastor Amber’s house 2-5pm. Bring towels and a friend. We’ll have refreshments and the pool! Contact Bridgett Gaines or the church office for directions.
