December joint Mission Project for Cutler Ridge United Methodist Church and Kindergarten
Seasons’ Greetings to everyone!
We are delighted to announce to you our upcoming joint mission project. The Christmas season is a time for giving, and we would like to share our bounties with children in need who live in our very own community. We will be participating in a gift drive for the children who reside in the South Dade/Homestead campus of Community Partnership for the Homeless.
There are over 100 children who are residents and they range from newborn to age 17. There is a sign up sheet for parents on the bulletin board on the stairwell door and a sign-up sheet for church members on the bulletin board in the narthex where you can select the age and gender of the child who you would like to purchase a gift for. Gifts should cost approximately $10, and you can choose to give the child either a toy or clothing. Please do not purchase gift certificates, as many of these children will not have the ability to go to a store to utilize them. Also, please do not purchase gifts at a dollar store, as we hope that all of the gifts will be of equal quality. Please wrap the gifts and label them with a tag that says the age and gender. These may be the only gifts these children receive, so they will most certainly be meaningful to them. If you are unable to purchase the gift but would still like to partake in the project, please let us know, and we will collect your money and purchase the gift for you. If you are unable to wrap the gift, we will wrap it for you. If you would like to give a gift to more than one child, we would be most appreciative; however, this project is by no means an obligation.
Please have all gifts to the school or church no later than Wednesday, Dec. 12 ‘07. Parents can drop them off in the box labeled CPHI gift drive and church members can drop them off in the church office. They will be collected by the staff at CPHI.
If you have any questions regarding this project, please do not hesitate to contact one of us via e-mail at 195203@dadeschools.net or adriananyc@bellsouth.net. If you would like further information about Community Partnership for the Homeless, please visit their website at www.cphi.org
Gratefully,
