On April 26 at 10:30 a.m. we will be celebrating Holy Humor Sunday and Children’s Sunday. For centuries in Eastern Orthodox, Catholic and Protestant countries, the week following Easter Sunday was observed by the faithful as “days of joy and laughter” with parties and picnics to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection. Churchgoers and pastors played practical jokes on each other, told jokes, sang, and danced.  The custom was rooted in the musings of early church theologians that God played a practical joke on the devil by raising Jesus from the dead. This year we will also celebrate Children’s Sunday on the same day.  Children from our Preschool and Kindergarten will sing the songs they sing in their weekly chapel service.  We will also honor our Preschool Staff and Children’s Church Teachers. Preschool families are especially welcome.  Come help us celebrate with us!
