CUTLER RIDGE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH
Miami, Florida
Actual Core Values
1. We are committed to knowing and communicating the Word of God.
(2 Tim. 3:16 All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness.)
(John 17:3; Matt. 28:19-20; 2 Tim. 3:14-17)
2. We are committed to giving generously and sacrificially to our ministry through our presence, service, and financial contributions.
(2 Cor. 9:7 Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
(Rom. 12:11 Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.)
(Rom. 12:1; Heb. 10:24-25)
3. We are committed to cultivating friendships and a Christ-like atmosphere within the family of God.
(1 John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God; everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.)
(John 15:15; Acts 2:42)
4. We are committed to worshipping God above all.
(Luke 4:8 It is written, “Worship the Lord your God, and serve only him.”)
( Deut. 6:5; Psa. 95:6; Psa. 96:9; Psa. 99:5; Rev. 7:15)
5. We are committed to connecting to Christ through passionate and persistent prayer on behalf of ourselves and others.
(Eph. 6:18 Pray in the Spirit at all times in every prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert and always persevere in supplication for all the saints.)
(Mark 11:24; Luke 19:46; Col. 4:2; Rom. 12:12)
6. We are committed to giving hope to all people.
(Rom. 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.)
(Acts 24:15; Rom. 5:5)
Our Aspirational Values - While these are not yet our values, we are working diligently at making them our core values:
7. We are committed to developing leaders who will be actively involved in the ministries of our church and who will be a positive influence on others.
(Eph. 4:11-12 The gifts he gave were that some would be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, some pastors and teachers, to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.)
(1 Cor. 12:27-31; 1 Tim. 3:1-13; Eph. 2:19-22)
8. We are committed to fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ to reach out into our community and to bring the un-churched into the Body of Christ.
(Matt. 28:19-20 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you.)
(Mark 3:14; Mark 16:15; Luke 4:18, 43; Acts 10:42; 1 Cor. 9:15-22)
9. We are committed to making our church a place where people of all cultures will feel welcomed, respected, and encouraged to participate in the ministries of our church.
(Gal. 3:28 There is no longer Jew or Greek, there is no longer slave or free, there is no longer male or female; for all of you are one in Christ Jesus.)
(Acts 2:1-11; 1 Cor. 1:10-13; I Cor. 12:13)
